Questions
about the CraneCam? |
(Please be patient and let the content load. You may initially
see a white screen, which should be followed by the image of our ultralight
and Whooping cranes)
It's important to note that during the
southward migration there will be times when the video feed will be down. For example, when the camera is enroute to our next
stopover location. During the journey, we are using a cellular aircard to
broadcast the feed. Unfortunately, we are limited with regard to amount of data on a
monthly basis. For this reason, on days that we are not migrating, the camera
will be operated for approximately 3 hours each morning, beginning soon
after sunrise - and 1 hour each late afternoon (between 3:30 - 4:30) for roost
check. For the remainder of the day viewers can watch the archived
clips which will be captured each day. To access the archived clips visit:

Through the CraneCam, you will be able to watch the Class of
2009 Whooping cranes as they migrate south for the first time ever. They'll
be guided along a migration route, which begins in Wisconsin and ends, some
1285 miles later, at one of two wintering locations on Florida's Gulf coast.
