Day 37 - Nov. 21, 2003

Cumberland Co., TN to Cumberland Co., TN

OM's Charlie Schaffer and ICF's Sara Zimorski begin the long walk to the crane enclosure located beyond the edge of the grass field.
Brooke Pennypacker appears with sixteen 7 month old Whooping cranes trailing his aircraft.
Shortly after, three birds (right of frame) break away from the lead aircraft.

Brooke regains all but one of the errant cranes.

Richard sets of in pursuit of three others after they again break from Brooke's trike.

Minutes later twelve cranes peel away with the eastern portion of Walden Ridge looming beyond.

Eventually the human flyers gave up and allowed the birds to return to their pen.
