Migration 2004

Fall Ultralight-Guided Whooping Crane Migration
Wisconsin to Florida

Date: December 2, 2004 |  Day 54

Arrival at Haralson County, GA

Just as Brooke gave the handlers the go-ahead to release the Whooping cranes, a large flock of Canada geese passed by between him, and the enclosure.
Seconds later our fourteen cranes came into view...
And quickly formed up over Brooke's now repaired trike...
As they passed overhead we could hear the breeze pass through their long primary feathers with each stroke.
They then headed off with their aircraft leader - destination SOUTH!
