January 13, 2008 - Day 78 Decatur County, GA

With the frost covers still on his wing, Richard van Heuvelen warms up the engine of his trike before taking off from Pike County, AL - Our final Alabama stopover. We actually spent an entire month in the Alabama--arriving in Franklin County on December 12th and making our getaway on January 13th.
Brooke Pennypacker launched with the birds as soon as Bev and I released them. Back to his old tricks, number 827 decided he didn't want to leave the pen and needed to be coerced out.
One of the many tasks that get performed many times each day is to hook-up and disconnect various trailers and RV's from numerous hitches. Here OM Director, Dale Richter unhooks the travel pen from our truck so that Bev can pull into place with her vehicle to connect it and haul it to Decatur County, GA.
I really don't recall reading the above task in my job description but one really never knows from one minute to the next exactly what may be required. Upon arriving in Decatur County, I ran into a little snag while driving Deke Clark's motorhome. This required me climbing up onto the roof (have I ever mentioned I'm afraid of heights?) to de-snag the power cord from the air conditioning unit.
Another task that sometimes needs to be done.... is... well, to be honest I'm not really sure what Chris was doing.
Chris displaying another of his many talents... I just wish I knew what it was that he was doing here too...?
