Chris and Richard let their engines warm up before dropping the frost covers from their wings at the last minute prior to take off
Joe captured several images of the cranes flying alongside him this morning.
 
 
About 30 minutes from Union County, KY, #827 was dropping out of the group of 14 so Richard picked him up to give him a free ride.
Here's 827 riding the sweet spot where he doesn't even have to flap. He can simply surf the vortices as they role of the trailing edge of the large aircraft wing.
Richard captured this image of Joe on the ground surrounded by 13 cranes and if you look at the upper left corner of the image you'll see 827 descending to join them.
