November 22, 2008 - Older Migrating Whooping Cranes

Bob Howdeshell describes himself as a "fairly new birder" who started in March of this year and says he was only vaguely aware of the Eastern Whooping crane reintroduction until yesterday when he was fortunate to spot five cranes as they stopped in Blount County, TN on their way south.
Here are cranes: 307, 520, 710, 721 & DAR 737 in flight during the Blount County, TN stopover.
Bob Howdeshell captured both images with his Canon 40D camera and 400mm lens - thanks for sharing Bob!
