November 18, 2008 - Day 33

After 7 days on the ground we were finally rewarded with perfect weather. The costumed handlers make their way to the pensite to prepare to release the cranes this morning.
Today's lead pilot Chris attempts to guide the birds away from their enclosure. They seemed eager to form up on his wing but soon broke off.
On one of their return trips to the pen Chris managed to intercept them and position his aircraft in front of them. Swamp monster was called into action this morning to deter the cranes from landing back at their enclosure.
OM Board member Jamie Johannsen captured this gorgeous shot this morning.
And Chris Gullikson snapped this shot of his five cranes with the nuclear power plant in the background.
