Photo Journal - Week Two of the 2005 Whooping Crane Migration

Joe Duff snapped these photos during the October 27th flight from La Salle County to Kankakee County, Illinois.

Brooke leads the pack early in the flight with 19 cranes off his left wing. Richard is in the chase position to collect birds that may drop down.

Richard picked-up 12 birds from Brooke's aircraft, leaving Brooke with 7. Our flight path took us over an industrialized area south of Chicago.

Brooke continues over a misty River between La Salle County and Kankakee County, Illinois.

Brooke, now with 6 birds, flew over a housing development and a highway interchange.
